Special Occasions Recordings was founded in 2025 by Zack Daniel Schiavetta in New York for musicians looking to find their sound in unconventional but accessible settings. Zack has been a long-time musician, producer, audio engineer, and performer for over a decade and has performed and ran shows with the likes of Mutual Benefit, Jeffrey Lewis, Teenage Halloween, and many others.

Zack has been recording and producing their own material for so long that they thought it would be best to have other musicians use their expertise to achieve what their songs need and more. Zack has also done audio work for Columbia University as part of the Oral History Master of Arts program which he graduated in 2020 and also for the Lincoln Center’s Library for the Performing Arts as a Technical Assistant for the building’s audio and visual work.
